For proper function, it is essential to water exclusively through the bottom reservoir. Watering from the top is not recommended, as excess water could cause root rot. The inner felt helps retain moisture for approximately 2 weeks. A water measuring cup is included to ensure precise, waste-free watering.

The integrated reservoir has a capacity equivalent to the included watering cup. In most cases, it only needs to be filled once a month with a glass of water. However, frequency may vary depending on the plant species and environmental conditions.
