MORE GREEN IN HOSPITALS! CLEAN THE AIR AND SPREAD JOY

Posted By: Judit Escarrà

The world needs kindness. We are not only talking about the character of people, but also about external factors that can influence it, such as the environment in which we find ourselves.

.

This Monday we were at the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona to witness the inauguration of the CDB Respira project, a pioneering project in Catalonia (Spain) that we hope will soon spread around the world. We want green hospitals!

A GREEN AND FRIENDLY PROJECT

Several studies have shown again and again that plants improve the air quality of a space, clean it of toxins, provide the necessary oxygen and humidity..., and are also exceptional decorative elements to bring life and color to an environment.

But not only that, plants directly influence our mood, reduce stress and improve our emotional well-being. In fact, they transmit a feeling of calm and serenity that benefits, in this specific case, both patients and health professionals.

That is why Hospital Clínic de Barcelona together with Mercat de Flor i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya have developed the initiative to introduce about 500 plants in laboratories and common spaces of the Biomedical Diagnostic Center to see how they improve the quality of the environment and which effect has on the mood of the people walking through its corridors.

THE IDEAL STAND FOR THE IDEAL PLANTS

This is undoubtedly an impressive project that by itself makes us very excited to see it grow, but the best thing is that they have counted on CitySens and our wall planters to make it possible.

In a place where the space to move around is key, it was unthinkable to put planters or pots that would hinder the passage. So why not use the walls instead?

And the rest is history; now the walls of the laboratory and the common boxes are decorated with CitySens wall planters and beautiful plants to delight the eye and the heart.

It's been a few months since they were installed, but we can already tell that the hospital staff, patients and visitors have noticed a positive change.

We can't wait to see how things have improved over time and hope that soon more healthcare spaces will be able to introduce the color green into their walls.
