SELF-WATERING WALL PLANTERS: CREATE YOUR PERFECT VERTICAL GARDEN

.

This month we are giving you the best tips and tricks for our wall pots, in order to have spectacular self-watering planters

The third anniversary of the launch of the CitySens wall planters is approaching and with a Verkami campaign still active, which has already been a success thanks to you, we thought it was the ideal time to reveal all the tips and tricks of our wall planters.

CitySens wall planters are design pots, with optional capillarity irrigation, made with recycled material.

  • Made in Alicante with polypropylene resistant to water and sun, designed to last for years.
  • Assembled in the Pere Mata Foundation by people with disabilities.
  • Since they are planters to hang on walls they do not take up much space.
  • You can create very original patterns and borders.
  • Do not hesitate to choose plants with different shapes, colors and heights to create an authentic jungle at home.

We love variety, so we offer you different packs and combinations that can be placed both indoors and outdoors.

OUTDOOR WALL PLANTERS

If they are going to receive rainwater, the ideal is to choose them without built-in irrigation. Also, if it rains a lot in your area, the right thing to do would be to create a drainage hole at the base of the pot and at the base of the textile cover. By doing that, the water will not accumulate and the plants will grow beautifully with the extra nutrients provided by the rainwater.

Both the cover and the pot have holes to hang them from. Plugs and screws are included. Cable ties could also be used to hang the pots from a railing or balcony. They will look spectacular!

TIP FOR YOUR OUTDOOR PLANTERS

Outdoors, where they will be exposed to rain, place peach pits on the base of the pot; they not only keep the substrate ventilated, but they are also an ultra-sustainable choice: we recover them from the juice industry to give them a new life by taking care of your plants.

INDOOR WALL PLANTERS

In this case, having a capillary irrigation system is a great option so that the plants are always watered.

In addition, you can play with the placement of the string so that the soil receives more or less water.

If the plants do not require much watering, you can wait a few days once the water level has dropped to refill the pot. And you can even include peach pits at the base for extra drainage.

TIP FOR YOUR INDOOR PLANTERS

In the case of the packs with the textile cover, you just have to hang them through the holes in the cover with the screws and plugs that we include in all packs. But, if you opt for a pack without the textile cover, we give you a couple of options.

  • The inner pot in which the plant is placed is anchored to the outer pot by tabs. These are sometimes a bit hard, because the inner pot has to be well fixed so that it does not float when the external pot fills with water.
  • So, you can snap the inner pot in and out two or three times before nailing the external pot to the wall through the holes in the back.
  • The second option is to hang it by the handle. It will be just as secure and it will be a piece of cake to place it.
