Vertical planter with built-in automatic watering

CitySens built-in watering pots include a recirculating automatic watering system. It is a bio metric authorization, that is, it imitates the water cycle in nature. The base of the CitySens vertical planter acts as a water tank, in addition, it includes a programmed water pump that makes the water rise to the top. We use mesh pots with filters that let the water run. In this way, the irrigation water flows from pot to pot as if it were a fountain, watering each plant in its path. The excess water is collected back in the tank and reused in the next irrigation. Saving more than 50% in water.

Recirculating automatic watering can be programmed using a digital timer or WiFi timer, meeting the needs of each family of plants or space where it is placed. The base of the planter has a capacity for 7 liters of water, which gives this automatic system an autonomy of 30 to 60 days.

Advantages and disadvantages of drip irrigation

Advantage:

• It is a versatile irrigation equipment, since you can water from one to 20 plants at a time, placed horizontally or vertically.

• You can adjust the drip irrigation for pots to all plants thanks to the timer and the droppers.

• By scheduling small watering frequently, you prevent the plants from drying out or over-watering the plants.

• It adapts to any type of soil

• Allows the controlled supply of nutrients

Disadvantages:

• The assembly of the automatic irrigation at the beginning is laborious.

• It has a high cost due to the amount of accessories for automatic irrigation: tubes, connectors and valves. However, the savings in time, plants and water make it still a convenient system.

• Maintenance once a year of the drippers

Capillarity irrigation

The CitySens wall pot has a capillary irrigation system. It is a very simple non-pressure irrigation system: the outer pot acts as a water reservoir and by means of a cotton string the water constantly moistens the substrate so that the plant always has the necessary water.

This irrigation system does not need programming. In addition, through capillarity irrigation you can leave the plants well watered during the holidays or not worry about their weekly watering. The autonomy of the irrigation varies according to the size of the plant, the light and the ambient temperature, so we recommend that the first weeks you pay close attention to the needs of the plant to know exactly its needs.

Advantages and disadvantages of capillary irrigation

Advantage:

• It is a very economical irrigation system. Perfect to solve several days of watering in which you can not water the pots.

• It naturally maintains the humidity in its proper measure, since the water only rises if it is necessary.

• The assembly is very simple and comfortable.

• Extend the life of your plants. Prevent them from dying and save on new plants.

Disadvantages:

• The disadvantage is that this system keeps the soil always moist and therefore it is essential to know the care and characteristics of the plants.
