A rhizome is an underground stem with several buds that grows horizontally emitting roots and herbaceous buds from its nodes. It can grow climbed on another plant, on a stone or on land. When it is sown in jars or pots its rhizomes and roots stand out. It is used as an indoor plant or garden. It is a species that multiplies rapidly through its rhizomes and the large number of spores that disperse easily.
