Well, the botanical expert Rafael Medina, from the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Connecticut and author of the blog Diary of a Copepod calculated it. According to his calculations, a 70 kg human consumes 1.55% of the oxygen in the room every night, while a plant only consumes 0.02% of the oxygen in the room. That's good news because:

2. It dismantles the urban legend: there's noproblem sleeping with plants in the bedroom.
